From the Pietra Rossa vineyard. Spread across Montepulciano’s iconic hills, at roughly 250 – 400 m.asl.
4,000 vines per ha., yielding 40 hl. per ha. North-easterly exposure. Soil is largely composed of sand and clay.
Vinification
Hand-harvested in mid-October, initial fermentation in steel containers for 18 days at 26° - 28°. Aged in 15 - 20 hl. barrels for 30 months. Refined in the bottle for 8 - 10 months. 8 - 10,000 bottles produced annually.
