Viticulture

Selection of the best grapes from the best vineyards in the Grumello subzone of Montagna in Valtellina. Vines are guyot-trained, and planted at an altitude of 400 - 550 m.asl. Vineyards are south-facing. Soil is predominantly composed of sand (80%) with some lime (20%). 3,800 vines planted per ha.

Vinification

Harvested in early October. Grapes are then gently destemmed and crushed, before being transferred to stainless steel tanks for 12 days to ferment at a controlled temperature of 25ÂșC. Aged in oak for approximately 12 months. Fined in the bottle for 8 months before commerical release.
