Le Potazzine

Founded in 1993 by Giuseppe Gorelli. After years of supervising at his father’s estate, Le Due Portine, Giuseppe Gorelli’s rich experience as an agriculturist and enologist served him in good stead for his own winery, Le Potazzine.

‘Pottazine’ is a word that in Montalcino is used to refer to a colour and vivacious bird that inhabits the Tuscan countryside and is also a term of endearment used towards children.

The Gorelli family's 5-hectare estate is divided into 2 separate vineyards and is entirely planted to Brunello (Sangiovese). The original vineyard is located next to the cantina and measures 3 hectares, whilst the second, measuring 2 hectares, was planted in 1996 and is in Sant'Angelo in Colle at La Torre.
