Federico Scala DOC Riserva

From the Tenuta Voltagrande and other vineyards in Ciro'. Vines planted in 1970, in vineyards approximately situated at 100 m.asl. Vines are cordon spur-trained. 4,000 vines per ha. Soil is sedimentary with a pebbly presence - great for drainage. Vines are south-facing.

Grapes are harvested in the first half of October. 50 hl. yield per ha. Grapes are macerated at 29°C for 30 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrique, followed by 6 months in the bottle, and is then generally bottled two years after production.
